Simon Fougere was born in Arichat in 1885. He died at New Victoria, N.S. in 1978 at the age of 93. Victoria GRACIE was born in 1889 at L'Ardoise,N.S. She died at New Victoria,N.S. in 1927 at age 38. They were the parents of Elsie FOUGERE GRACIE, who married Hubert GRACIE...the parents of Rita GRACIE Mac Donald. HUBERT GRACIE(the first) was born in L'Ardoise,Cape Breton, in 1841. He married Adele SAMSON,born 1848,in L'Ardoise. Their son BENJAMIN was born in 1877, in GRACIEVILLE,Cape Breton. His marriage to IDA DEVOE,took place in ALDER POINT, Cape Breton, the birthplace of IDA. Their son,HUBERT, born in 1909 in Alder Point, married to Elsie FOUGERE, produced 15 children.
